and again

Well, here goes for doing a blog! (There's a first time for everything :)  )

It's now two weeks off my two weeks leave from work, and once again I'm trying to plan what to do. I do this every time I'm off and it usually involves tidying on a major scale. I live in a two up, two down terrace (which is now 124 years old) with hubby and 21 year old son and sometimes even our 17 year old daughter (who has just about moved out - except for all her stuff).
Needless to say, after 23 years here, we've accumulated a few things :) . And therein lies the problem. Don't get me wrong, I love what we've got, there just so much of it and so little space. So every so often I plan ways to tidy. I make to do lists - what we've got, by type size number etc. Where they are at the moment and where they should be. Ways to keep things clean and organised. I even try to plan the odd one or two treats for my well earned time off! The problem is - what I really prefer to do, is just veg out with my my laptop playing on Facebook games like Farmville etc and Big Fish games (mind numbing match 3 games). I know, I'm very sad, but you can thank my work friends for getting me into the Zynga Villes and then abandoning them!

Any way, back to the planning. Current thoughts are to minimalise (yup,just made a word up) the front room, ie store most ornaments, paint the front window sill, and strip the paint off the front window ledge and varnish it. In theory we should end up with just books, DVDs and games on the shelves, and only a couple of candles on the fireplace. Maybe I should take a few "before" pictures to illustrate! (if I dare :(  )
